Born to Farquhar Fraser Mathieson and Elizabeth Laird Mathieson, the fifth child of ten in Paisley Scotland. She immigrated to the USA in the mid 1920s following her brother James who lived and worked in Pawtucket, RI. She gained employment in the mills of the J. P. Coats as a laborer. She knew of an opening as a sample knitter in the companies New York office which she applied for and was hired. She worked her way up through this division to eventually become the head editor of there publication department when she retired in 1963 (aprox.).
Elizabeth returned to Scotland and her family living out the rest of her life. (biographical notes provided by David Fraser Mathieson, nephew)
