The old breed : a history of the First Marine… by George McMillan
This was my Granfathers. He earned it on Okinawa. It is a good book. A good book written for those who were there, and gives the later reader a sense of the First Marine Division's roll in the Pacific Theater. Fairly detailed battle commentary, but not complete either.
