A young girl out for a good time with her friends decides to walk home, its only a short distance, what could possibly go wrong?
Brutally sexually assaulted and abducted, she finds herself fighting for survival while law enforcement investigates her boyfriend as the prime suspect. It is up to her friends and a Police Officer suffering with his own particular set of demons to follow the clues and discover her whereabouts before it is too late.
An emotionally charged book which may not be to everyone’s liking but generally well written. Personally, I initially found the numerous ‘flashbacks’ to be a deterrent to the storyline, however they were in fact necessary in the long run.… (more)

Quite harrowing at times to learn about the appalling treatment of victims of crime within the courtroom. Insightful but perhaps overly long and detailed for an “outsider” like me, who would have preferred a shorter synopsis.

Milligan's brilliantly researched background to Cardinal Pell, and the crossover with the Royal Commission into Institutional Response to Child Sexual abuse, is mind-blowing. While the research and interviews are extremely thorough, I had some problems with the writing style, and wonder why the book wasn't edited more closely (specifically the use of 'myself' when 'I' or 'me' would be correct is irritating. But I'm nit-picking).
One of the questions that remain for me is around police investigations, and why a television/print investigator, as Milligan is, can find people, but the police can't or won't.… (more)
