Very good book! Covers the African-American experience before, during and a bit after WWl. It discusses in detail the treatment and living conditions Black Americans received during this period. I have read other books re the African-American experience during the war. This book however went into enough detail to shock the reader. For anyone interested in African-American history, WWI, the politics of this period, or Jim Crow... this is the book. Well Done by the author.
