'A gem of a book' according to the Derby Evening Telegraph. I am not sure about that. I enjoyed parts of it, It gently satirises the Welsh, for instance, page 126: a list of different sermons delivered at many different chapels.There is a cricket match occupying chapter 10 - it lacks sparkle. I liked phrases such as 'the sky above the pretentious Free Library was grey and unwelcoming'. The characters had good Welsh names but remained wooden.
