Hon. Amy Augusta Frederica Annabella Cochrane-Baillie was born into an aristocratic British family and in 1880 married an Italian peer, Francesco Nobili, Marquis Vitelleschi, a member of the Italian Senate. She was known as the Marquesa Nobili-Vitelleschi. She was particularly interested in royal Stuart history, and was the author of several historical works of this era, including "A Court in Exile: Charles Edward Stuart and the Romance of the Countess d’Albanie" (1903) and "The Romance of Savoy: Victor Amadeus II and His Stuart Bride" (1905).
