Join us for a reading group discussion of The Underground Girls Of Kabul by Jenny Nordberg!
Bacha Posh is the practice of dressing young Afghan girls as boys in order to give them opportunities as children they might otherwise have. As adolescence arrives they asked to become girls again—not all want to give up the autonomy that comes with the alternate gender. This is a fascinating look at the practice and the girls from Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nordberg.
