Apart from an unfortunate penchant for devouring horses, the Wolf is clearly the hero of the story. I'm interested in reading other versions of this tale, though: is Prince Ivan always such a dolt?

This book can have a influence on very young children, because it can show that they can do anything they want, if they put themself to it. The book is about a little bird who is trying to figure out what he wants to do for his day. He comes across many different animals that all tell him to do things that they would do but not typically a bird. Things such as a from telling him to jump, a pic telling him to roll, and a worm telling him to wiggle. after each animal the bird does what they would do until the end, when his mom tells him to fly and he finally flies all over the farm.… (more)
