Richard Restak, M.D., a neurologist and neuropsychiatrist, is the author of seventeen previous books on the human brain including the bestsellers The Brain and Mozart's Brain and the Fighter Pilot. His essays have appeared in the Washington Post, The New York Times Book Review, the Los Angeles Times, and the American Scholar. A Clinicial Professor of Neurology at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, he serves as president of the American Neuropsychiatric Association.
