Sibyl A. Schwarzenbach is a professor of philosophy at Baruch College and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She graduated from Cornell University, attended Heidelberg University as a Fulbright Scholar in the 1970s, and earned her doctoral degree in philosophy at Harvard. She is the author of Women and the United States Constitution: Interpretation, Theory and Practice (2004), On Civic Friendship: Including Women in the State (2009), and numerous articles on social, political, and feminist theory. Her current research project is on the life and works of Annemarie Schwarzenbach, a cousin.
