First off, I have to say I agree with an early comment which stated that there is a lot of repetition in this book. Specifically, I felt the first chapters covered the same few points about the main character's life a few too more times than was needed.

However, once the narrative got into its stride, I found 'An Ogham Wood' to be an enchanting tale of old legends, ethereal creatures and promises bound to the land; as seen through the hollow, disbelieving eyes of a lost man.

Pain and sorrow has moulded him into the man he is. But little by little, the strange island he finds himself unwittingly Laird of begins to mend his heart and open his eyes to other worlds.

Poignant at times, this story of love lost and peoples saved is well worth a read.
