The making of what is reckoned to be the worst of the ST films 'as told' by Lisabeth Shatner. (Daughter of the mighty Shat.) And poorly written, condescending, gushy, Hollywood fan magazine, adjective-overloaded stuff it is. (The three 'lovely' s in two short paragraphs in Ch 5 really made my teeth grate.)

Anyone who knows anything at all about film making will find it irritating as Lisabeth Shatner writes as if she were addressing a class of seventh graders and any decent editor would have sorted out things like: 'Peter began assembling the film on a "chem" a special machine which ...' when she was obviously referring to what she two pages later later calls a 'kem' (without quotes). It's a type of flatbed editing machine. Strictly speaking, should be written 'KEM'. We nerds get irritated by stuff like this.

Die in the wool Trekkies might find nuggets in here but for the general film buff it's one for the kids.
