This is a very detailed text and is well organized. First the book treats pulsar history and the chronology of research. It then goes into pulsar charasteristics. After that the author covers the the types of pulsars known with examples of al categories. As the book progresses, the author goes back into the variations in the variations in pulsar characteristics such as emmision geometry, emmision mechanisms and magnetic fields. The last portion of the book, titles "Achievements and prospects" summaries the current status of research on the different aspects of pulsar research and where it is headed. At the end of the book is a pulsar catalog and references. This book could be a college graduate level text as it is packed with data, charts, formulas, graphs and trends.… (more)
