Friends of the Signal Hill Library will feature Signal Hill author, Marty Steere and his first published book, Sea of Crises, at its Author Talk & Book Signing on 8/27/12. The book is a high-energy fictional thriller about 3 brothers seeking, in the present day, to unravel the truth about the mysterious disappearance of their father and the rest of the crew of a 1976 Apollo 18 moon mission after making the shocking discovery that the charred bodies in the capsule that returned to earth in back in 1976 were not those of their father and his crew. Their search for the truth puts the brothers on the run from a shadowy, ruthless government force that will stop at nothing to preserve the secret of what really happened to the crew of Apollo 18). The author will also give a little preview of his soon to be published Defiant Heart (a coming-of-age adventure tale/love story about a couple in a small Midwestern town on the eve of WWII), as well as his plans for another thriller and possibly a sequel to Sea of Crises. The son of a career Air Force officer, Marty Steere grew up on or near military installations across the country and overseas. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, before settling in Southern California, where, when he’s not writing, he practices law with a major Los Angeles firm.
