Pretty average read. The humour was funny but I didn't particularly enjoy the characters or the plot. Needed to be fleshed out a lot more. I've rated 2 but it's probably more a 1.5 that 2.

Uncanny Ink: Books 1-3
Uncanny Ink Collection, Book 1
By: David Bussell, M.V. Stott
Narrated by: Helena Little
I really enjoyed this snarky, fast paced, female assassin book where Erin is just a normal gal who gets tattoos that make her fast, strong and more. The three stories have demons and other creatures, magic, a mystery of who kidnapped her baby brother, and a love/hate relationship with a sexy assassin. I found myself snickering frequently from the silly, snarky, witty dialogue and descriptions. An enjoyable book despite the main characters being assasins.
Definitely will read more by these authors now!
Narration was terrific!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review and I enjoyed how brave little Molly Brown was in saving her mom. Something is thing is taking people in the dead of night, and only after her mom goes missing does she cry in her dead Gran's bed, fall asleep, and wakes up to see her Gran's body all in dead gray. Her grandmother told her that her mom had been taken and that she must hurry before the monsters took her life also and to be brave, easier said than done by a little girl, but she had her grandmother's spunk.

Sometimes it's best not to hope for ghosts and monsters as you just might get more than you hoped for!

When a young girl realizes her nightly dream visits from her Gran are more than just imaginary it starts an adventure to save herself, her mother and more from monsters. The Between is where these monsters exist and are vulnerable and as Molly gathers just enough strength to face it, the Between steps in and mixes things up.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this not being able to put it down after starting. The mix up of a young girl being a hero and the monsters being the least likely people made for an enjoyable read. Molly is tough but even she needs some help along the way and her pick of the former military man from next door works perfect and is even good for bringing a laugh or two to the darkness of the story.

A read that will be enjoyed by a bit older child with a different take on good vs evil and who is who.
