Join us with your little ones and come meet the beloved local author! Nancy Tafuri was born in Brooklyn, New York. For the first ten years of her life she was an only child and says that this helped her to learn to entertain herself with stories and art. She entered the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1964. Her first job was as an assistant art director for the publishing firm Simon & Schuster. She left two years later and married Thomas Tafuri, a fellow student at the School of Visual Arts.
Nancy and her husband opened their own graphic design studio, in 1971. Their primary product was dust jackets for hardcover books. They opened their business in New York City, but eventually moved their studio and home to Connecticut.
Recognized for her exquisitely detailed, authentic depictions of farm animals and cuddly woodland creatures, Nancy Tafuri has authored more than 45 books for the very young. Nancy Tafuri is probably best known for her book Have you seen my duckling?, a 1985 Caldecott Honor Book which Parent’s Choice described as “beautifully precise yet emotionally affecting.” Tafuri’s beautiful illustrations, which are often based on her own pets and family, have captured the imaginations of young children for generations.
Nancy Tafuri lives with her family in Roxbury, Connecticut.

Other Tiger is extremely pleased and wonderfully excited to host a book release party for author Nancy Tafuri, famously known around these parts for her children's picture book THE BRASS RING.
