Learning more about the presidents gains a pinch of fun in this wonderfully, artistic book.

This is the first book I've seen which goes through each and every president, and still, keeps discovering more about them interesting and entertaining. Yet, it can't be considered a humorous book either. Each president is depicted on their own two-page spread. The author's artistic talent comes to life as she illustrates each one in an easy to recognize, black and white portrait. Then, to spice it up, she adds dips and dabs of a single color. But that's not all. Around the portraits she lists all sorts of interesting, little known tidbits about each president in a bit of a scribble note style. For example: George Washington had a dog named True Love, and William McKinley had a parrot that whistled 'Yankee Doodle'.

On the other page, there is a very short, colorful text which gives more interesting insight into the displayed president...more information, which would never be mentioned in a classroom or usual history book. Of course, the name of the president and when they were in office is also given. Plus in the back of the book, there's a list of each president with birth dates and such. All of this, makes it a very informative and fun way to learn this part of American history, and not just kids will be caught up in the pages and pick it up for a glance every now and then. It's a great way to learn about the presidents and not risk boredom seeping in during the process.

I received a complimentary copy and really enjoyed how the presidents are brought across. It might not hold every historical detail, but it has many things kids will surely not easily forget. So, I'm leaving my honest thoughts.
