Short biography
My childhood imaginary friend and the wild fiction stories I wrote early in life pretty much sealed my future fate as a writer. I've been a TV news reporter, PR specialist, freelance writer, and now, I write books for children. My first fiction series, Julep O'Toole, was released by Penguin and Aladdin publishes my Secrets of a Lab Rat series. Both series' are for middle grade readers. On the nonfiction side, I've written more than 70 titles, on everything from storm chasing to video gaming. My publishers include Scholastic, Marshall Cavendish, and The Child's World. I've been married for 25 years to my college sweetheart, Bill, a high school photography teacher. I love photography, art, and napping with my 18-pound ragdoll cat, Kira.
