After reading the prequel, I thught it best to re-read Book One before starting with the rest of the series. Five stars because I enjoyed the book again.
The start of a partnership of Detective Inspector John Meredith with Detective Patsy Hodge in Bristol, England. Is there a serial killer or just suspicious assisted suicides or euthanasia. And if a crime has been happened how long have they been committed.
I really enjoyed this well-written mystery (again), and liked the characters, so onto Book Two.… (more)

Amdrew Short is knifed dead and later Anna Castle is shot, is there any possible link between the two. Meredith and his team need to find the culprit before any more bodies turn up, meanwhile Hodge has now left the police and is working as a private investigator on several cases. Will their working lives cross as their personal life seems to be fraught with suspicion.

Nancy Bailey is convinced that her sister did not commit suicide three years ago, but no one believes her. So she takes drastic action to ensure that DCI Meridith will investigate the case. Meanwhile Hodge is employed by Kate Wilkinson to search for her husband Darren to prove to the police that she did not kill him.
An interesting and enjoyable well-written story. Really like the characters in this series.

Loved this…interesting characters, plenty of plot and it was difficult to put down. I thought I’d solved the mystery at least three times before the reveal still had a twist left to deliver. Book 2 beckons
