Well..... this was a mixed bag for me. So we have Friend telling us that his grudge against Kenji is because this one stole a Space Patrol Badge from Jijibaba's store? I mean, what? And while flying sources get defeated (finally assassin number 13 plays his role and Otcho manages to fire missiles from the giant robot) we end up with "Hair" musical ending during which Guta LaLa/Suda Lala song is the thing (all the other performances do not make any effect). And then we fast forward to the end - Kenji from the 2000's comes to 1960's and encounters his younger self followed by the fall of the curtain.

If this was David Lynch's production I would say, yup, figures. But here..... it leaves so many questions open that I am still not sure who the Friend is and why would he have such a grudge against Kenji that he is ready to kill off bloody everyone just to be able to say "Aha! I told you I am better than you!". To say it is overkill is understatement.

Apparently there are two more volumes titled 21st Century Boys that should give some kind of closure (I hope).

Art as always is great.

If you got to this point I hope you will ending satisfying (for me it wasn't so I need to look for remaining two volumes).

All in all very good story-line but I have a feeling that author had to close it up before time. Maybe he was just too ambitious. In any case two more volumes to go, lets see where that will take us.

After the shocking end of last issue everything is in turmoil. But also everyone is questioning will this actually stop the Friend's party from executing a terrible blow against humanity.

Story gets complicated and we witness how everybody tries to figure out what is happening. Story is now in slow mode, but I think it will soon find back its own pace. I gotta say I am interested to see how this proceeds.

Art as always is beautiful.

Highly recommended.

As one of the reviewers noted it is exquisite how author managed to capture the despair of people separated from their families by wall and sent out to concentration camps from which they manage to escape with great losses.

And then they are given limited set of vaccines by masked persons - what happens is truly devastating and heart breaking. These scenes and village episode are truly something that made this book very emotional for me.

Kenji is back and I gotta say book seems to take the path of rock opera. I hope this will not be the case because.... I do not know...... but again it would be fitting ending to something that started as child game...... so who knows .........

Art as always is beautiful.

Highly recommended.

Kanna manages to do the unthinkable and gains a force with which to counter "Friend's" threat to the Pope and Expo 2015. At the moment of greatest need Shogun appears and saves the day, but it seems he knows something that he is not willing to share with anyone else, so [as a ninja he is :) ] he vanishes from the stage in a same manner he came in.

On the other end Koizumi recognizes the new teacher and (for reasons of pure awkwardness and utter terror of ending up again in the "Friendly Land") ends up in his house where she is not clear what is going on. Until teacher reveals the location and why he brought her there.

There are so many twists here, that I do not want to ruin anyone's experience. We are at volume 10, we still do not know who "Friend" is but story is not dull for a second.

Art as always is gorgeous.

Highly recommended.
