The photographs are beautiful, the maps informative. There's a bit of oversimplification here, I think. It's done in the spirit of information, so I'm more inclined to give it a pass, but can domesticated sheep really be classified as invasive/evil in the same way which bullfrogs or Burmese pythons are? Here any non-native, no matter how long it has been in the new territory, is called out. Admirable in its thoroughness, and enlightening in its scope, this book taught me things I didn't know. Parts of the battle are well worth fighting, though I think we may have to give up on trying to get rid of pigeons, starlings and rats.… (more)
