Venus Williams

Venus Williams was born in Lynwood, California on June 17, 1980. She became a professional tennis player at the age of 14, beating the player ranked number 50 in the world in her first match. She was the first African American to reach number one as a professional in either the men's or women's show more game. She is a multiple Grand Slam singles and doubles champion and a three-time Olympic gold medalist.
