The Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire is a French award for speculative fiction. It is given every year in November during the Utopiales (international science-fiction festival taking place in Nantes). (English, Member-written)Le Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire (GPI) est un prix littéraire français créé en 1974 par l'écrivain et critique Jean-Pierre Fontana lors du Festival de science-fiction de Clermont-Ferrand. Initialement intitulé Grand Prix de la Science-Fiction Française, il a été rebaptisé Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire en 1992, ce qui correspond à une extension de son champ de compétence, ceci pour deux raisons principales : La disparition du Prix Apollo qui récompensait des romans de toutes nationalités, le Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire englobant alors, lui aussi, des œuvres anglo-saxonnes. Le rapprochement de plus en plus fréquent de la science-fiction avec d’autres genres comme le Fantastique, l’Horreur et la Fantasy. Le GPI a été décerné jusqu'en novembre 2009 lors du Festival international de Science-Fiction des Utopiales de Nantes, il l'est depuis mai 2010 au festival Étonnants Voyageurs de Saint-Malo.
