Bobby (or Bobbie) Shaftoe: Fictional character in the folk song of the same name. Almost all that is known of him is summed up in the first verse of the song:
Bobby Shaftoe's gone to sea,
Silver buckles on his knee,
He'll come back and marry me,
Bonny Bobby Shaftoe.
