Character description

Gitta Sereny (1921-2012) was born in Vienna to an aristocratic Hungarian-German family. After the Nazi takeover of Austria in 1938, she went to France and took part in the French Resistance, until she had to flee the German Occupation. She became a prominent investigative journalist and author known for unflinching studies of Nazis and child criminals.
