Character description

Wife of Lieutenant William C. Allen. In 1937, at a Grand Army of the Republic convention in Madison, Wisconsin, she claimed that her late husband had been present when John Wilkes Booth was shot but that the body hadn't matched Booth's description. (However, according to BLOOD ON THE MOON, her husband was 175 miles away, on leave visiting his dying father, at the time.)
