Almost a Queen by Laura Du Pre

Character description

Henri de Bourbon-Condé (Henry I, Prince of Condé; 29 December 1552 – 5 March 1588) was a French Prince du Sang and Huguenot general like his more prominent father, Louis I, Prince of Condé. He was married to Marie of Cleves. They both converted to Catholicism rather than being executed as heretics after the Saint Bartholomew's Day Massacre, but Henri fled and returned to his Protestant faith, while Marie remained at court and continued as a Catholic.
