Character description

Joan of Kent (1328–1385), Countess of Kent in her own right, was called "The Fair Maid of Kent." She was a granddaughter of King Edward I and was as famous for her tangled marital history as for her beauty. In 1361, she married her cousin Edward, Prince of Wales, nicknamed The Black Prince, and had a son who became King Richard II.
