Character description

American stage actor (10 May 1838 - 26 April 1865) and Confederate sympathizer who assassinated Abraham Lincoln. While not performing at Ford's Theatre on the night of the murder, Booth had worked there in the past (it was one of only 2 theatres in Washington, D.C. at the time) and knew from an announcement in the newspapers that Lincoln would attend that night's performance.
