Character description

Archduchess Maria Christina, Duchess of Teschen (1742-1798), was a daughter of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria and her husband Francis I, and an older sister of Marie Antoinette of France. She and her husband, Prince Albert of Saxony, served as joint governors of the Austrian Netherlands from 1781 until expelled by French troops in 1792.
