Character description

Much the Miller's Son: In the earliest tales of Robin Hood, one of the chief associates of the Master Outlaw. In the Gest of Robyn Hode, he, Robin, Little John, and William Scathelock (Scarlet) seem to be the basic four. In Robin Hood and the Monk, it is Much and John who rescue the imprisoned Robin. His significance was gradually reduced as additional characters, unknown in the early form of the legend, were introduced.
