Character description

Philip VI (1293–1350), was the first King of France from the House of Valois. His claim to the throne was disputed by his cousin Edward III of England during the Hundred Years' War. He was king in 1348, when the Black Death struck France and killed one-third of the population, contributing to the unrest.
