Character description

Renée of France (1510-1575) was the younger daughter of Anne, Duchess of Brittany, and King Louis XII of France. One of her childhood companions was the young Anne Boleyn. In 1528, she was married to Ercole II d'Este, duke of Ferrara. She became an important figure during the Protestant Reformation both in Italy and in France.
