Sisters in the Resistance: How Women Fought to Free France, 1940-1945 by Margaret Collins Weitz

Character description

Sonia Vagliano-Eloy (1922-before 2003) was born in Paris to an American mother. She left France at the start of World War II and joined the Free French forces in London. With other female volunteers, she was sent to France, Belgium and Germany at the liberation to establish refugee camps and assist concentration camp survivors. She wrote a book about her experiences entitled Les demoiselles de Gaulle, 1943-1943 (1982).
