Begun in 2009, Little Free Libraries® are community gathering spots
designed to facilitate the free exchange of books, usually demarcated by a small wooden box in any given neighborhood.
They can be found worldwide.
Bookcrossing hopes to give every book a unique identity so as to to promote and track the
free exchange of books from reader to reader. Bookcrossing-friendly zones will help register and number new books as they get them.
Based predominantly in the Netherlands, MiniBieb functions in quite in the same way as a Little Free Library.
They are loosely defined boxes, shelves, or other areas, managed by a community members and intended to facilitate the
free exchange of books.
