- In 1997, Greg Ruggiero brought to Seven Stories the Open Media series, a pamphlet publishing effort he had cofounded in 1991 in opposition to the Gulf War. Producing a wide array of critically acclaimed and bestselling scholars, dissidents, and artists—including Noam Chomsky, Angela Davis, Howard Zinn, Alice Walker, Robert McChesney, Allen Ginsberg, Nancy Chang, and Subcomandante Marcos—In 2001, the series expanded to a larger format called Open Media books in 2001. The first in the new format was Noam Chomsky classic, 9-11. Recent pamphlets by Seven Stories Press include Coco Fusco’s A Field Guide for Female Interrogators and Howard Zinn’s The Unraveling of the Bush Presidency. (English, Unclassified)
