- About My Library
This library has been built over the last 15 years or so, ever since we started homeschooling. I would look at the required booklists for different curricula & then I'd find the book somewhere & add it to our shelves - whether I used that particular curriculum or not. We moved from Virginia to Arkansas in 2016 & moved approximately 5000+ books with us & 13 bookcases. About 7 or 8 months after we gather I had gone to a large local library looking for "America Begins" because it was the only library in this state that had it & I had been searching for it for over 2 years. They didn't have it, it had been Withdrawn - I was crushed. There was a lady working there that showed me where the children's section was & that they were having a big sale - this was definitely up my alley!!! You can already guess what I found - America Begins!!! And literally hundreds of other books!! They were purging everything published before 2010. I missed the purge of fiction, but was there for science, history, folk tales & more. That is truly where this library grew from. It's where I learned about Landmark's, Signature bio's, Garrard publishing, Messner bios & so many more. I would go 3-4 times a week, for about 7 months to see what had been put out. I've continued to learn about author's & their work through book groups & other homeschool mom's. I love to rescue books from anywhere I find them. This library has vintage children's fiction, science, history & biographies, books on missionaries, jewish holidays & celebrations, Christian books, Classics - both illustrated & text only, Geography & book on explorers & explorations, Pop Up books & picture books, vintage school books in math, spelling, language arts, etc..., Nature study books & the list goes on. <3

I'm currently a homeschooling mom going into my 15th year. I have 3 daughters & have been married to my husband for 25 years! I love illustrations & have definitely been known to judge a book by it's cover! I LOVE vintage children's books, History & Biographies. My daughters & I love to grab a drink & go driving at night, with the windows down & the music playing - this happens all summer until the nights get too cool. My husband & I like to go on day trips around the state, taking backroads & finding new places to visit. I love black coffee & Diet Coke! (although I've recently stopped the DC & have switched to boring water, lol!!)
