About meSome people would consider themselves to be autodidacts. I, however, am a zoedidact. I am not taught by self; I am taught by life. I am twenty years old, with a penchant for both the outdoors and for education. I am especially a fan of discovering a crossroads between the two. I have been known to ramble, often passionately, and I hold fast to my faith, my family, and my farm.

About my libraryAs of July 20, 2009, I have chosen to embark on a journey ... a venture, if you will. I have many unread books upon my shelves, as well as quite a few that I have not read in years. The task that I am charging myself with is to read (or re-read) every book on my shelf, rather than voraciously attacking the local libraries at every turn. That's not to say that I won't borrow a book every now and again. It's also not to say that you're not allowed to give me another one, either. Rather than stopping by the store before my next road trip, I'll turn instead to my own bookshelves. Rather than watch a movie, I'll read another book.

The books on my family's shelves are a bit of a conglomeration. Some are from my youth, some I picked up at a local thrift store, some I have swapped online. Some are mine, some belong to my parents, some I claimed from my granddad's library after his passing. My intention is to read - or at least make decent headway into - each book, and review it. Some, such as a college textbook poetry anthology, might not quite lend themselves to a technical review, but nevertheless, I intend to track my progress, both here and on my blog.
