About My Library
My library contains books in many subjects but I have a stronger emphasis on books on Philosophy, Judaism, Art History, History, Buddhism and a collection of biographies that I collected in my teens about my adolescent heroes: Andy Warhol and Ayn Rand.

I also love literature. My favorite fiction authors in random order include Haruki Murakami, Witold Gombrowicz, Don Delillo, Paul Auster, Henry Miller, Jose Saramago, Philip K. Dick, Cormac McCarthy, Kazuo Ishiguro, Chaim Potok and George Orwell.

When I started cataloging books on Library Thing I only added the books I own. Now that I am working on lessening my compulsion to "possess" the books I read, I add books that I read and sometimes may only be able to claim as mine for three weeks (love that library card).
About Me
My reading is both directed by serendipity and current passions. These passions develop, change, morph, leave and return. I tend to become focused on an author, person or subject and learn everything I am able to through reading and following the trajectory of where each new book leads me.

Currently I am focused on reading folktales, absurdest fiction, dystopian fiction and books that touch on Jewish history, folklore, mysticism and movements.

I am in the Information School at the University of Washington, studying to become a librarian. I would like to work in public libraries and continually learn and grow through my work. I like almost all things "library" but specifically enjoy reference, outreach, storytelling, YA services, medical reference, and subject specialty reference services (such as Art History).
