Mitchell Friedman, EdD, APR develops people. Known as an enthusiastic, energetic, and insightful professional, he basks in opportunities to help others to achieve their full potential.


Dr. Friedman is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Defense Management at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, Calif.

He also currently facilitates Leadership Monterey County.

Previously, Dr. Friedman served as Associate Dean, Student Affairs and Career Development at Presidio Graduate School and was Director of MBA Career Services at University of San Francisco.

In addition, Dr. Friedman has served as Northern California Director of the Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies. This industry-sponsored program puts early career advertising agency professionals into real-life marketing environments to develop integrated plans for prospective clients such as SKYY Vodka, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, and Microsoft.

Finally, Dr. Friedman helps a range of organizations to develop the communications and leadership skills of their employees.

Mitchell Friedman earned his Ed.D. in Organization and Leadership from University of San Francisco; an M.A. in Modern European History from Stanford University; and a B.A. in History from Brandeis University.
