In this book (3), everyone has bad days. (1), This is a silly book that gets the children involved in the story. Throughout the book the children are supposed to tell the pigeon no every time he asks to drive the bus. It has fun illustrations and can be a good way to get kids laughing. (1), you just have to keep looking to find the right one. (1), This book follows a mouse as he asks many different animals if they want to be his friend. He finally finds the right friend at the end of the book. I think this is a good message for children that there is always someone who is willing to be your friend (1), This story brings to life crayons as they decide to quit for the day. This is a good story to get kids laughing and get their imaginations going. (1), and sleeps at the other home at night. (1), This is a silly book with a twist about a cat named Charlie Anderson. Charlie Anderson lives with a family and goes missing. In the end we find out that Charlie Anderson has two homes. He lives at one home during the day (1), This story is about a brave little girl who does her best to help her mother deliver a dress in spite of a crazy snow storm. (1), This is a good introduction book to writing for younger students. This book is about a frustrated child because his letters don't come out the way that they should. His friends encourage him and tell him that nobody is good at everything. (1), and in the end he recognizes that he is a good artist. I think that is a good book to help students realize that they don't have to go with the norm to be good at something. (1), This book is about an artist who paints animals unusual colors. Throughout the book we are introduced to different paintings by this artist (1), This book follows a boy as he has a bad day. His day starts off rough and just keeps getting worse. This story has a message that no matter where you are (1), This book is a classic. It is about a boy and a tree and their relationship. It shows how the boy uses the tree and since the tree loves the boy it lets him. (1), this is a multicultural book as it is about adoption. The child in this story tells us about how she is adopted and her family loves her just as shew was their own child. (1), shapes and colors. They will love getting to make the sounds of the animals in this book. (1), Gerald McGrew imagines all of the things he would put in his zoo and imagines the adventures he would have to go on to get these things. (1), This book is about a boy who seems to be anything but nice. He gets trapped inside a pie and has to learn his lesson in order to get out. (1), This alphabet book is a fun way to get kids introduced to their letters. The book covers the jobs of different peas and introduces children to a different way to remember the alphabet. (1), Ruby grew up in a culture where women had certain tasks and the men were allowed to further their education. She was smarter than the rest and longed to continue in her education. He just wants to enjoy life while other bulls snort (1), This could be a good way to wind down a child's day. Its about a bunny who says goodnight to everything. (1), This is a book with a story. At first you think that the story is about people who have money but you soon realize that this family is rich in other ways. (1), but chooses to go anyway. He is chased all around the garden but finds the gate and makes it home. He is served tea while his siblings get a nice dinner. (1), This tale is about a rabbit who gets into some trouble. He is warned not to go into the garden (1), This book is an inspirational book I feel like. In this book Dr. Seuss talks about all the places that you can go if you just put your mind to it. This can encourage students to do well and work hard and they can go places. (1), This is a book about a chameleon who isn't happy with the way he looks. He wants to be like everyone else. In the end he realizes that the best way to be is himself. (1), This is a silly book about cows who can type. The cows start leaving the farmer notes with demands and go on strike. (1), This a cute alphabet book with a story. The letters in the alphabet decide to meet at the top of a tree. That tree soon bends and... all of the letters end up in a pile under the tree. (1), but a cat in a hat shows up. Throughout the day the house gets destroyed and things happen. At the end of the book their mom comes home and the book asks children if they should tell the mom and what they would do. I think that this can help start a good (1), This book is a favorite of mine. It is about two children who are home alone and stuck inside (1), This book would be good to help children talk about animals and colors. (1), This is a fun book about imagination. Harold goes for a walk armed with his purple crayon. He uses it to draw things while he is on his walk. (1), A lonely firefly goes on a search for other fireflies. He searches all through the night and finally finds what he was looking for. This book is a good reminder that if you keep searching (1), feels lonely and sails back home to where he is truly loved. (1), Amos McGee (1), This is a fun book about manners. A rabbit is concerned that is new neighbors are otters. His friend brings up the old saying of do unto others as you would have others do unto you (1), there are many descriptive words. This could be a very good example of a descriptive text if students aren’t sure about how to begin. I also like the illustrations in this book because they show a different way of illustrating through drawing and that a (1), this book is about a child who loves bugs. Throughout the book (1), or you can have them count the ducks. It is also like an introduction to different directions. (1), a box falls overboard with 10 rubber ducks. The story tells us which way each rubber duck has wandered. It takes us to the 10th rubber duck who then becomes part of a real duck family. This could make kids feel like they are truly making a difference in the world and that their voice and actions matter. (1), This can be a very encouraging and empowering book for kids. This book talks about all of the good things that would happen if kids ran the world. It paints a picture of kids who are concerned about others well being and want everyone to enjoy themselves (1), except instead of others it is “otters”. The rest of the book shows Mr. Rabbit thinking about how he would like the otters to be towards him. This book is a great example of what manners are and how we should treat others. I could use it In my classro (1), or to suggest to students with little siblings to read for guidance on how they could handle their sibling. (1), the little boy tells about how he and the earth are friends. He goes on to tell us that he talks to the Earth and that when the Earth is happy he is happy. The point of this book to help kids understand I think that they should treat the earth with respec (1), the reader soon discovers that the monster is none other than the boys sister. This book also has colorful illustrations and rhyming throughout. This could be a good book to show rhyming (1), This silly book is about what to do when a monster does certain things. As the book goes on (1), his animal friends visit him and do for him what he usually does for them. (1), visits his animal friends and spends time with them. When Amos catches a cold (1), On most days (1), Curious George is about a curious monkey who is taken from Africa by a man in a yellow hat to live with him in the city. George's curiosity gets him into trouble. This book is relatable to young readers as kids are always very curious. (1), This is a nice book about a child whose grandma is in a nursing home. Throughout the book we're able to see the progress this boy makes as he goes to the nursing home to visit his grandma. On each visit he learns how to interact with the people who live a (1), This books is about why trees are nice. I would choose this book to teach literacy because I think it is a good example of what a story can be. It is a very descriptive text. The illustrations in this book are great and simple as well. (1), This was a book about a child who lives in Baghdad. The child talks about how he loves to do calligraphy. He talks about how during the war it was one of the only things to keep him calm and went on to explain the things that he likes about calligraphy. (1), I selected this book because it is a book that has a good lesson in the story. I would use this book for literacy instruction because the lesson behind the story is good for children to understand. The owl takes the girl around the forest and describes what each forest animal is doing while the world is sleeping. (1), the little girl tells us about how the sun is her favorite star. She goes on to say all of the things that the sun does for her. This helps the reader understand what the little girl loves about the sun. This could be a good book to read when teaching fir (1), In this book a little boy gets sent to his room without dinner for causing trouble. Soon a forest grows in his room and he ends up where the wild things are. He makes himself their king. Eventually he sends the monsters to bed (1), he hides the brush again and drifts off to sleep. It explores different cultures and children who don't look the same but explains that although we are all different (1), In this book a little girl wishes that she had freckles like her friend. She draws on freckles to look like her friend. This book is a good book to read to children to help them understand that they may not like the way they look but someone else does. (1), Arthur is ashamed of his nose so he tries to change it by getting surgery. (1), and a good example of a circle book. (1), Cute story for kids (1), The children in this book act up and take advantage of their teacher. She is out for a day and they get a mean substitute and start to rethink how they treat their teacher. (1), This book follows one of the little bears as she gets ready to start kindergarten. This could be a great first day of school book (1), a little girl finds out her father is going to send the runt pig of the litter to the slaughter house. She ends up having to sell him to her uncle and he gets shunned by all of the animals on the farm. A spider soon starts making messages in her Web and b (1), This book is about a fish who expects everyone to like him because he is beautiful. When he decides not to share his scales all of the fish turn away from him. In the end he has to find out that beauty isn't the most important thing. (1), This is a book about a little girl named Emily Elizabeth and her big red dog named Clifford. She tells us about Clifford and the things that he does. (1), This book is pretty close to a circle book. Harry the Dog doesn't like baths so he hides the scrubbing brush and runs away. He gets dirty while wandering the city and decides to go back home. His owners don't recognize him because he has gotten so dirty. (1), Grandfather's journey is about a grandfather who travels from Japan to the US. He falls in love with California but then misses home in Japan. He eventually goes home to Japan for his family and each time he goes to California or Japan (1), but there is a troll under the bridge who eats anyone who dares to cross. The three goats one at a time cross the bridge and convince the troll in some way not to eat them. This is a fun folktale for younger kids and can be used to introduce size. (1), Three billy goats want to cross a bridge to get to grass on the other side (1), but a beautiful swan. (1), There was an egg that hatched that didn't look much like the others. Out from it came a duck who looked different from the rest. Throughout this book many comments are made about the ducklings appearance compared to the other ducks. He soon finds out that (1), but its okay because Tim's new friend has a cuddly friend too. (1), but his friend Pico is more nervous than Tim. Pico goes through multiple scenarios in his head about moving and finds every excuse not to move. He finds that Tim makes a new friend (1), Tim is moving and is nervous (1), This book simply retells the story of Johnny Appleseed and how he came to get his name. The illustrations in this book are colorful. (1), This book is about an armadillo who grows up with her family until its time to leave her burrow. She is named bluebonnet because of the bonnnett that shades her eyes. She ends up saving campers from a flood at the Guadalupe River. (1), This is a great book that helps children understand that they are all welcome at school. Throughout the book it introduces different school scenes but each time it says that all are welcome here. (1), he soon misses the other place. Eventually his grandchild hears stories and soon understands why his grandpa falls in love with california. (1), This story is about a little girl who ends up with appendicitis. Her friends miss her and visit her in the hospital and begin to wish they had appendicitis too. (1)
