About my libraryDue to request - and arisen complications - I have (heavy heartedly) decided to exclude my PDF files from the collection.

Roughly 500 files, ranging from fiction, collections from friends and admired authors to non-fiction (parapsycholgy, psychology, esoteric, astronomy ... you name it) have now found their home on a new librarything.com page - ladyLovecraft2.

Regards,
LL

Katrin.

Schön, das Du wieder hier aktiv bist. Wie geht es Dir? Alles in Ordnung? Wollte mich schon längst melden, aber mein Verleger sitzt mir Nacken wegen zweiten Buch. Mist. Nur Streß. Denke oft an Dich. Hoffe, alles ist in Ordnung. Bin ich Halloween eingeladen?

Hope you are doing well! "From Beyond" was a fun horror movie from the 1980s that is enjoyable as long as you aren't expecting any actual Lovecraftian references. :) They took the vaguest hints from Lovecraft and created an entirely new plot and setting. They also added a strong sexual element to the movie, which I don't mind, but it's definitely not from Lovecraft. I have heard very good things about the 2005 silent movie "The Call of Cthulhu," so hopefully that one will be more faithful to the original story. I'll let you know how that one is when I see it.
I am going to see the film "From Beyond" tomorrow that is apparently based on the HPL story of the same name. No idea if the film will be any good, but I felt obligated to go since it's showing on the big screen here. It's a nice birthday tribute anyway.
Today is the 119th anniversary of HPL's birth!
LadyLovecraft,

Hey, thanks for marking my profile out as an interesting library and friending me. Hope you're doing well, reading something good...

'Tis nice to meet a fellow Lovecraftian!....I think he would have been an interesting fellow to share a glass of absinthe with....
I'm pleased you find my library interesting, and thanks for the friends invitation. Your library seems quite impressive itself (and makes me wish my German were better).
Mein ghulischer Engel.

Da hat wohl wer HPL gelesen, was?

In tiefster Zerknirschung ob seiner Unzulänglichkeit,

Dr. Stein
Geschätzte Freundin.

So viele Bücher! Hast Du die alle gelesen? Aber im Ernst: Eine beneidenswerte Sammlung, die Du da hast. Da lechzt das Herz, die Finger krümmen sich...

Viele Grüße,

Dr. Stein
It's always good to meet another fan of HPL.

Have you read (or interested in) the graphic novels recently released about Lovecraft and his Cthulhu Mythos? There are 4 or 5 out now and are fun to read. It's always interesting to see how others visualize HPL's stories. I found them all at my local library BTW.

There are a LOT of Cthulhu style books coming out these days. I believe it and HPL are very popular again. Yay! -grin-

I just saw a new compendium of HPL at the bookstore. It is nearly 900 pages of HPL in one inexpensive book. If you are interested.

Wow, you have an excellent assortment of Lovecraft books, thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries! May I suggest Neil Gaiman's Shoggoth's Odd Peculiar, I think you might like that one!
Cheers
Angelikat
Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries. I intended to recommend Shadows Over Baker Street, but I see you already have it. You might like The Spiraling Worm by David Conyers and John Sunseri.

My favorite H.P. Lovecraft story is The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.
Thanks for adding me, we clearly share a lot of the same interests! :)
Danke. :)

She stands by me,
this child of three,
Holding out
a picture book;
Her eyes in upward,
pleading look.

I think of pressing
tasks today,
Of waiting things
of near demand,
Yet swiftly reach
for her small hand,
And go with her
to Fairyland.
