About meI am 53 married and have one son from a previous marriage. I work as an alternative ed teacher and also as a tutor at a local university. I really like both of my jobs though they keep me really, really busy.
I am a bookaholic...though I have to admit that I read much less than I used to...mostly because, I am sorry to say, of the internet. I also find that the older I get the pickier I am...if something doesn't really entertain me I can't stay with it. I will read just about anything that will hold my interest but I really like mysteries, biographies, social history, well written time travel booksand especially film history. In fact my user name is a name I constructed from the Gish sisters (Lillian and Dorothy---Lilandorth--get it?), who were early silent film stars. All though I am not a regular poetry reader I love Emily Dickinson's work. Even poems I have taught in my American Lit classes for years still give me the chills when I read them.

About my libraryIt's everywhere! I have been a bookaholic and an unrestrained book buyer since I was a teenager. It was manageable until about 10 years ago when I met and married my beloved husband who is also a compulsive reader and book buyer (we are so well suited!) Although our interests overlap in some areas he is mostly a collector of books of poetry, Native American history, religion and self-help. Combining both of our libraries resulted in a home burgeoning with books, but in the last few years we have sorted, weeded, donated and sold on Amazon and have made the following improvements: we no longer have a bookcase in the bathroom (!); our bedroom only has one bookcase instead of two (yeah, OK we still have piles by the side of the bed); and our collections of poetry, fiction, biography, and film history are pretty well organized.
