Cloudstag cloud, author cloud

About meMy reading preference is adult speculative fiction with a lean toward the dark. I'm not a fan of allegories or "beautiful writing".

I read a lot of short stories. I started with horror paperback anthologies back in the day, trying to find authors and story styles I liked and now I can't stop with the SF&F e-magazines. So, so many of the stories are produced as audio and I'm having fun "listening" to a bunch of them. Stefan Rudnicki, narrating just about anything, is a great experience. Kate Baker for Clarkesworld does a great job also.

I do like novels! I have such a back catalog to get through. :/

I'd like to get through my back catalog and then stick with recent publications. It's my 3rd year with that goal. COVID kinda messed up my mojo but the goal remains.

I cataloged on another site for maybe 8 years. I had to mostly let them go. Besides the many broken items and empty promises, if I wanted an accurate catalog, it involved asking "volunteers" to do almost everything. Combining/separating records, adding covers, adding page counts, adding contributors, etc... It took a lot of energy and a high level of engagement to document the request with "proof" of it's need, babysitting and bumping until it was done. (I do like a tidy catalog :) I am enjoying being in my own little world cataloging on LT but it is definitely lacking reviews and socialization and I find myself going there to look for reviews and group conversations.
