About My Library
I just entered the books I could remember reading in the past few years. I'm going back to do reviews aka commentary as I have time...kind of fun to revisit some of my favorites. I don't write a proper book review, but put down thoughts that come to me at the conclusion of my read. This helps me to remember the book better. I don't maintain my TBR on this site. I use many different techniques to manage the books I want to read.

About Me

I am comfortably settled in to retirement adding volunteering to my repertoire and enjoying the ability to plan more time for reading. Retired: Fall 2015. I used to run my own small business in the fashion fabrics industry. My days were stimulating, filled with color and fabric and lots of shared creativity with customers. Now I have time to sort through my life (the big purge) and spend more time reading. I like to read two books at a time, one fiction, one non-fiction. I enjoy biographies and memoirs, especially for some reason those of journalists. I find narrative non-fiction as fascinating as a fictional story. I love historical fiction, but also like contemporary issues. I am drawn to character development and plot although I sometimes choose books for their settings so that I can learn more about places I haven't had the chance to go or to enhance my understanding of places I have been. Do not like horror, fantasy, sci-fi, overdone crudity or too much angst. I read to learn and to relax in a good story.
