About meI can't remember my first book and I can't remember a time when I didn't have at least 2 books I was currently reading. (See my 'in process' and 'on deck' tags for those I'm reading or about to begin.) The only time I didn't have any books was when I had to throw away my entire library due to a flood a few years ago. Fellow bibliophiles knew that the other stuff wasn't that big of a deal, but the library loss was catestrophic! I wish I had cataloged all of them! As I've seen items in others' library that I know I had, I've added them with the tag of 'read'. While I'll never recall all of the books I had (library was about 1800 books), I will have a record of some of what I've read. Avid readers know that a good book, once read, is always with you.

LibraryThing may be the start of a new addiction for me. Many of the books listed are from my book club. We meet monthly -- an intergenerational group of women between 40-something and 80-something, with a WIDE variety of literary tastes.

About my libraryToo many tech books and cook books (there is really little difference, but you can't eat code!) The rest is eclectic as I'm slowly rebuilding a library.
