Hi. I just read your review of Sedaris' When You Are Engulfed in Flames, and I enjoyed and agreed with it for the most part. But I'm afraid you didn't quite catch what he said at the end of "Road Trips." He said--in the subjunctive--he would have liked to have escaped with his virginity intact. It was quite a deft piece of writing, and seems to display an awe-inspiring level of candor.
Hi, I found your library through your review of Olive Kitteridge, one of my favorite reads this year. Then I read all of your reviews, and checked out your blog, and was relieved to discover you are a librarian; no wonder your reviews are so well written! We share many similar responses to our shared reads. I was thrilled to find someone else who loved both The Girls and Away, as both are among my favorites. Hope you don't mind my adding yours as an interesting library. Happy reading,
Mel
