About meI do a variety of things.

Most often these days my idea of "fun" is playing in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), although i also hang out in some other sub-cultures. In the SCA i am known as Urtatim, formerly Anahita. I concentrate on cooking, costuming, and learning textile skills.

And i'm playing Balinese gamelan again. It's wonderful making music with others and for dancers.

About my libraryBooks are my love. I don't really need much furniture, but i couldn't live without books.

My library is in 4 out of 5 rooms in my apartment (not in the bathroom - too damp). The library is organized by subject, with particular subjects in particular rooms. There aren't enough walls for all the shelves i'd need in this earthquake zone. So there are also stacks of books in front of some of the book shelves.

Although i read some genre fiction - science fiction, fantasy, vampire novels, crime fiction, spy novels - I've pretty much stopped buying them because i read them too fast. Paperbacks are so expensive now, and i'd rather save my money for non-fiction/ reference works.
