About meI'm a husband, father of two boys, and pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America (graduate, ThM, Dallas Seminary, 2006).

I'm a private pilot and enjoy flying more than just about any other past-time. I also scuba dive and sail. When I'm not reading professionally, I am usually reading history (especially Age of Exploration, nautical, aeronautical, and otherwise bellicose non-fiction and good fiction), or thoughtful science fiction. I also enjoy 19th Century English Literature.

About my libraryMy library is conceived of in two parts - my professional library which spans Christian theology and history, but focuses on the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition; and my personal library which is focused on gathering the great works of Western civilization in their original languages. I'm slowly collecting the Loeb volumes as well as The Everyman Library as uniform editions of those great works. For American Literature I am focused on the Library of America volumes. Of course, volumes outside these series do and will continue to figure prominently if they are the best available.
