About meI have an eclectic taste in books. I tend to get involved in at least a couple different subject areas at a time, stick with them for awhile, and then move onto new subjects. I've usually got at least 5 books on the go not because I have lots of time to read, but because what I read depends on my mood.

About my libraryI've been using LibraryThing a little bit for a long time. I find it's a great thing to come back to, when I need to indulge my obsession with books. I've added all the books I own and many of the books I've read (but not nearly all!). I have listed a large number of books that I intend to read, someday.

My rating system: 5 stars, obviously, is an excellent book. 3 stars and above is a good book. Anything below that, I wasn't that crazy about and just put in here for the sake of completion.

I enjoy reading books that are recommended by friends. I'll reference the friend who has recommended a book. I love finding out what types of books people like to read.

I used to read a lot of science fiction and some fantasy. Before that, I was reading horror. I used to read mystery books only occasionally, but now I always have one on the go. I like reading non-fiction but the type changes. I went through a period when I read popular science books on physics (especially quantum physics). I read biographies for awhile. Right now, my non-fiction reading seems to be all over the map. I like reading the classics, both fiction and non-fiction. I always like reading about religious studies, mythology, and folklore.

I've started reading Agatha Christie novels in French. I've read almost all her stories, some of them at least twice. That makes it easier and, more importantly, enjoyable.
